Pet Of The Week

Zeus was the sweetest 3 month old little black & tan dog  at our Animal Snackers Bakery this past Sat.  The  information we had said he was a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix.  He looked nothing like either breed and so we decided he was a Dachshund/Terrier mix.  Whatever his heritage, he was the friendliest little guy, and we're happy to say that he was adopted by the woman who runs the Black Rooster Pasta booth here at the 2nd Street Market.  We were so pleased and so was she.  We wish you well Zeus & we know you'll have a wonderful forever home!!

Who Are The Friends?

Starting at the top we have        Maggie -- Wes -- Karen -- Bonnie  Phyllis P. -- Sharon -- Barb -- Gloria  Phyl K.

We are a group of volunteers dedicated to  raising funds for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Ohio.  We meet the second Tuesday of each month, at 6:30PM in the Humane Society facility located at 1661 Nicholas Rd. in Dayton.  All of us are very concerned with the welfare of unwanted or abused animals & are working very hard to make their lives better.

How do we raise our funds?

Our main fundraiser, at this time, is our Animal Snackers Bakery, located in the 2nd Street Public Market, 600 E. Second St.   We are always in need of more volunteers for this project. We need people who like to sew, bake or work selling in the bakery. Sewing is for the catnip toys & the bandannas, recipes will be supplied for the treats (& we must use these recipes) & selling at the bakery is usually done in shifts. If you would like to volunteer or know someone who might be interested, drop me an EMAIL & I'll see that some one contacts you within a day or two. For more about our bakery check out our Animal Snackers Bakery page.

The Humane Society not only shelters dogs & cats but also birds, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, white rats & other pets looking for new homes.  Check with the HS site to see what other pets are now up for adoption or call 268-PETS.
